Principle Yoga Teaching Methods

Hatha

  • Hatha is the earthy foundation, the building block to understanding our body through yoga. This is a steady paced class where poses are held for two breaths to give your body time to deepen each asana.

    “Ha” meaning Sun, and “Tha” meaning the moon, this practice focuses on working equal sides of the body, the equal side on energy, and the equal side of our brains. Performed twice a day at sunrise and sunset, this class type is perfect for those just getting into yoga.

Ashtanaga

  • Ashtanga is the Fiery Breath, built upon the Hatha sequence, this style is know as the Surya Namaskara, or Sun Salutation. The Ashtanga style can also be practiced during sunrise and sunset. Strengthen your Ujjayi pranayama and get ready to feel like a warrior.

  • Sixty minute class broken into four parts: pranayama warm up, sun salutation A & B, long flow, shavasana.

Vinyasa

  • Vinyasa is the fluid movement of freedom within our body. Vinyasa is the dance of yoga with full freedom of creativity and expression. This is a fast paced class, dedicated to making you sweat and embarking you on your next physical discovery. This is a class designed for those who are familiar with the full Ashtanaga Surya Namaskara sequence, we will be moving quickly, and releasing trapped emotions within the body. So come prepared to walk off your mat a brand new person.
